With the new year approaching, goal setting is something that we all do to plan for our future.
We plan to lose weight, maintain positive habits, we strategize for our monetary balance, our relationship balance, and try to change any of our unhappiness, welcoming in our joy.
Goal setting is a positive step towards that change. The trick is how to set those goals with positive energy and action and words.
Today, we are going to talk about how to goal set with success in mind.
The first step is to identify those goals.
I like to use a vision board, or create a movie.
Create this movie of all of the pictures you would like to represent your perfect life. This is a fun exercise! I found pictures on the internet, took photographs of pictures in magazines, and included pictures of my family, my life, and my travels to create mine.
Let these pictures be positive. If you wish to lose weight, include pictures of yourself at your ideal weight, or include realistic pictures of what you wish your body to be. If you wish to make more money, include pictures of the things you will buy with this money. Make certain that you feel that these goals are attainable. The way you feel towards this movie or this vision board will be key to how successful you are in achieving your goals. If your goal is to improve relationships, include pictures of what that perfect relationship looks like.
Make sure that your movie includes a balance of all of life. This balance should include all aspects of life's abundance as defined by you. Family, Friends, Finances, Health, Relationships with yourself... Remember, this vision board, this movie... is all yours... no judgement, so have fun with this exercise.
When you have finished collecting the pictures, organize them into subcategories, and label them. For example, if you choose to do a movie or a slideshow, begin each segment with positive words affirming your connection to these pictures. "My Home", and then have pictures of what your perfect home looks like. Especially if you already living in your perfect home. Include those pictures, that way, the "movie" or goals match your life already. Does that make sense?
